National Public Health Institute in Finland, KTL is a research and expert institution under the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health of Finland. It produces research-based information on health and promotes citizens’ possibilities to live healthy life.

KTL is responsible for research, expertise and health monitoring, as well as public health services development and assessment. It accounts for education, training and the dissemination of health information. In addition to national sphere in Finland KTL participates in international collaboration.
